Gun Owners of America Backs National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill
Gun Owners of America (GOA) announces strong support for H.R. 38, a bill to grant national reciprocity for Americans who can carry concealed firearms in their home states.
Introduced by Congressman Richard Hudson (R-NC), this new bill fixes the plight of concealed carriers’ confusing patchwork of reciprocity laws.
Erich Pratt, Executive Director GOA, commented, “The Hudson bill would ensure that victims of crime like Pennsylvania concealed carry holder Shaneen Allen do not face decades of imprisonment, merely because they took an erroneous turn into another state.”
Pratt stated that this legislation would simplify the puzzling variation of concealed carry across the states and make America safer by letting citizens defend themselves while they travel.
“Make no mistake about it,” Pratt concluded. “States which recognize the right to use a firearm to protect yourself are the safest states in the country. On the other hand, states which ban firearms and which prohibit citizens from protecting their families are, without exception, crime-ridden rivers of blood.”
