LA: Urge Governor John Bel Edwards to Support Constitutional Carry!

LA: Urge Governor John Bel Edwards to Support Constitutional Carry!

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards

This past Wednesday, Constitutional Carry bill HB 596 passed the Louisiana House by a vote of 73-28.

With the passage of HB 596 by the House and SB 118 by the Senate, Constitutional Carry legislation has now overwhelmingly passed both houses of the Louisiana Legislature!

While both bills still have a long way to go, the fact that each bill has been passed by a chamber of the Legislature is a strong indicator that a Constitutional Carry bill will make it to Governor John Bel Edwards’ desk.

That is why I am asking you now to please contact Governor Edwards and urge him to support Constitutional Carry!

The Governor has already indicated that he would veto any Constitutional Carry legislation stating that he “feels very strongly that a considerable majority of the people in Louisiana support the system we currently have.”

This is simply not true.

Both HB 596 and SB 118 were passed with veto-proof margins, so regardless of what Governor Edwards “feels,” what is clear is that a considerable majority of the people in Louisiana support Constitutional Carry.

But if the overwhelming support of Constitutional Carry by the Louisiana Legislature is not a clear enough message for Governor Edwards, then it is time for us to take the message to him directly.

We need to be loud and active and let the Governor know that Louisiana is in full support of Constitutional Carry, and that he should be as well!

Please take action and let Governor John Bel Edwards know that we expect him to support and defend the right of law abiding Louisianans to keep and bear arms by supporting Constitutional Carry!

If you can, call Governor Edwards at (225)342-0991 and ask that he support Constitutional Carry.

Then send him a follow up email here.
