NH: Repeal of gun line is moving!

March 19, 2021 UPDATE:  On Thursday, March 18, 2021 the New Hampshire Senate voted “ought to pass” on SB 141.  Thanks to all of the GOA Members and supporters who called and emailed Senators.  GOA will send an alert when it is scheduled for a public hearing in a House Committee.

I am happy to report that last Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted SB 141 “ought to pass” on a party line vote.

SB 141 will end the delays being foisted upon handgun buyers and sellers by repealing the inefficient state “gun line.”

We explained about this very serious problem here, here and here.

Last summer, when the typical hours long delays turned into weeks and months, we published a report in Ammoland. Thankfully, Sen. Bob Giuda is now leading the charge to fix this problem and eliminate the delays.

Please use the above form to contact your state senator and urge them to vote YES on the expected “ought to pass” motion on SB 141 when the Senate meets in remote session this week.

We are aware that HB 307 (enhanced pre-emption with a GOA approved amendment), HB 334 (extends Constitutional Carry to snowmobiles and ATVs) and CACR 8 (a pro-gun Constitutional Amendment) have all been voted “ought to pass” by the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. We will send a separate alert when these bills are scheduled for a vote by the full House of Representatives.

However, right now, we need your help to enact SB 141 so please use the form above to take the requested action.  If you prefer to call your senator, click here for the Senate Roster.
