Gun Owners in the Golden State Celebrate after AWB Struck Down

Springfield, VA – Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) Senior Vice President Erich Pratt released the following statement after California’s so-called “assault weapon” ban was struck down:

Gun owners are rejoicing as common sense prevails in the Golden State. On Friday, U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez of San Diego struck down California’s unconstitutional ‘assault weapons’ ban in a scathing opinion. Gun owners are looking forward to more pro-gun decisions from the courts, as the Supreme Court is set to take up a case involving “may issue” permits. When Courts adhere to the Constitution, the right to keep and bear arms can be restored.

Erich Pratt, or another GOA spokesperson, is available for interviews. Gun Owners of America is a nonprofit grassroots lobbying organization dedicated to protecting the right to keep and bear arms without compromise. GOA represents over two million members and activists. For more information, visit GOA’s Press Center.
