Gun Owners of America (GOA) recently announced that 200 members of Congress now support the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which would allow eligible concealed carriers to carry firearms across the country.

“With 199 co-sponsors, plus chief sponsor Richard Hudson, support for the bill has reached an almost unprecedented level of support,” said GOA Executive Director Erich Pratt.

“GOA is urging members who have co-sponsored to urge their colleagues to support the bill as well,” Pratt said.

Given the recent shooting at a Congressional baseball practice, where Rep. Steve Scalise and others were injured, there is more urgency to pass the bill.

“[GOA] wants the bill to move quickly … sooner than later,” Pratt said. “If [the bill] doesn’t move, it will be clear that Paul Ryan has no serious interest in passing this legislation,” Pratt said.

Gun Owners of America is a nonprofit lobbying organization dedicated to protected the right to keep and bear arms without compromise, and it has more than 1.5 million members and activities.
