AZ: Two Second Amendment Sanctuary Bills Clear the House & Senate Chambers!
Arizona legislators have been spending the last few weeks pushing to protect your Second Amendment rights from Biden’s gun control agenda!
The Second Amendment Sanctuary bill (HB 2111) — sponsored by Rep. Leo Biasiucci (R) — is challenging President Biden’s intention to impose a gun control agenda that will restrict your 2A rights. As we stated in an alert last week, this passed in the House on February 24th.
Another Second Amendment Sanctuary bill (SB 1328) — sponsored by Sen. David Gowan (R) – just passed in the Senate on March 3rd! This Senate bill is very similar to the House bill that was passed last week.
If either of these bills would become law, state and local government officials will be under order to NOT enforce ANY unconstitutional federal gun control laws, which will make it significantly less likely for federal gun control to be enforced.
Obviously, legislators will only send one version of the bill to the Governor. So legislators still need to iron out the differences between the two bills and repass it in both chambers. Or legislators in one chamber will take up the bill from the other chamber … approve it … and then send it to the Governor.
The office of one of the bill’s sponsors told GOA today that they still do not know which strategy they will pursue.
So to “cover our bases,” please email both your state Senator and Representative — and urge them both to support legislation making Arizona a Second Amendment Sanctuary!
