Utah: Time to Pass Constitutional Carry!

We have good news to share.

Late last week, the state Senate Judiciary Committee passed HB 60, a bill to make Utah a Constitutional Carry state.

Under House Bill 60 — sponsored by Rep. Walt Brooks (R) and Sen. David Hinkins (R) — a Utahan will be able to carry virtually any place in the state, without having to beg the government for a permit.  This is particularly important at a time when government closures are dragging out that process — thereby endangering the lives of applicants in threatening situations.

Seventeen states currently recognize that Americans have the right to carry a gun for self-defense without first getting the government’s permission to exercise their constitutional rights.  These states, not coincidentally, are among the safest in the country.

It’s well past time that Utah joined these states and repealed the unreasonable and unconstitutional limits on Utahans’ exercise of their Second Amendment rights.

House Bill 60 is a good step forward in removing many of the 2A restrictions that Utahans have to live with.

The House has already passed this legislation. So please urge your state Senator to support this bill by using the form above.
