PA: Pass HB 1747 and HB 2440

Push to Pass Pro-Gun Bills!

I have some very good news to share with you.

Both HB 1747 and HB 2440 were reported from their committees and are now on the Senate floor.

But with only 10 session days left, there is a danger these pro-gun bills could die on the calendar.

That’s why I need your help to ensure that both HB 1747 and HB 2440 get scheduled for a Senate vote ASAP!

To jog your memory, HB 1747 eliminates the Governor’s ability to “suspend or limit the sale, dispensing or transportation…of firearms” during a state of emergency.

HB 1747 also removes the requirement to have a License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) in order to carry a firearm openly during a state of emergency — and with Pennsylvanians waiting up to a year to get an LTCF, this is a much-needed correction to the law.

HB 2440, the “Hunting, Firearm and Ammunition Life-Sustaining Business Act” would protect the entire firearms industry and shooting ranges from arbitrary closure during a state of emergency by making them life-sustaining businesses.

I am truly grateful for Senator Lisa Baker and Senator John DiSanto’s commitment to getting these bills reported from their committees.

As gun owners, we cannot let their efforts be in vain and need to turn up the heat to get both bills passed in the full Senate.

That’s why I need you to take action today (see above) and urge your state senator to pass both HB 1747 and HB 2440 immediately, without gutting amendments.
