I am asking you to please add your name to our prewritten letter urging your congressman to vote for H.R. 705, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act.

If your congressman does not hear from you right now, I fear Joe Biden will plow ahead with a plan to strip veterans of their gun rights – and then move on to every other American.

The good news is that your activism has brought about a huge victory for 2nd Amendment rights. This culminated in the Secretary of Veterans Affairs sending a letter to Rep. Mike Bost on March 15 confirming that the VA will no longer be disarming veterans for simply having a fiduciary!

The bad news is that our victory has caused quite a stir among anti-gun Democrats in Congress, and 143 House Democrats have sent a letter calling for the VA to ignore the law!

This is no small number. That’s 2/3rds of Democrats in the House of Representatives, who want to declare military veterans unfit to own firearms – despite the fact that GOA-backed language just passed into law PREVENTING the VA from disarming military veterans.

Declaring someone mentally unsuitable to have a gun simply because someone else manages their finances is so radical even mental health professionals, who are usually anti-gun, have spoken out against the Veterans Gun Ban.

You know that if they can do this to veterans, then they can do this to the rest of America as well.

We’ve told you before that because of your activism, GOA was able to win two major victories in the spending bill now before Congress:

1. We got language slashing the ATF’s budget—the biggest cut in the bureau’s history.
2. We got language blocking the Veterans Gun Ban signed into law, so that for now, veterans cannot be banned from owning guns simply because they have someone else managing their benefits.

However, GOA has learned that Democrats wish to reenact the Veterans Gun Ban in next year’s VA funding bill. We need your help to codify the GOA-backed protections into permanent law and to help restore the rights of veterans who have already been disarmed.

It’s a big win that shocked Joe Biden, but we need push ahead even further.
