While fighting gun control bills in Congress is oftentimes a straightforward process – politicians in the D.C. Swamp like to hide gun control deep inside “must pass” spending bills. 

Worse is when anti-gun politicians strip pro-gun language from funding bills in order to undermine our rights.    

And with major funding deadlines and a potential shutdown rapidly approaching, that means GOA’s fight at the national level is going to be related to the appropriations process and defending the Second Amendment from sneak attacks in Congress. 

And with your grassroots activism, we have a real chance of stopping the Biden administration from banning lead ammunition and curtailing shooting on certain public lands.  

Because you are a Maine resident and voter, I need you to contact Senator Susan Collins and tell her to stand up for gun owners and stop the assault on our Second Amendment.. 

From his efforts to destroy 58-year-old hunter safety and shooting programs in America’s schools, to a plan to ban commonly used ammunition, Joe Biden has instituted an all-out war against hunters and recreational shooters.

But with your help, GOA has been leading the fight to expose Biden’s plans and work with Congress to protect our American hunting traditions from these unprecedented attacks. 

With intense pressure from GOA, Congressional action overturned Biden’s school programs ban, reinstating access to hunter education programs and shooting programs in schools, but anti-gun members of Congress and this Administration have not given up on other plans to attack our hunting and Second Amendment rights. 

Biden’s lead ammunition ban is still slated to go forward on certain areas of federal lands in the eastern United States, and prior failed efforts by the Left tell us this will be a precursor to more draconian bans around the country. This ban doesn’t just affect hunters; it also prohibits lead ammunition from recreational shooting in these areas. 

Alternatives to lead ammunition can cost 2-4 times as much as lead ammo, which would strongly impact participation in the sport and especially turn away women, minorities, and other new shooters. 

Maine hunters and gun owners need to contact U.S. Senator Susan Collins and let her know you want her to DEFUND Biden’s lead ammunition ban as part of the ongoing budget negotiations in Washington, D.C. 

Please tell Senator Collins she must do everything she can to ensure this Administration does not destroy America’s great hunting and shooting traditions for the next generation.
