IL: Ban on Commonly-Owned Sporting Rifles Gaining Support in State Senate

Illinois senators are working to take your guns away right now.

After the recent tragedy at the July 4th parade in Highland Park, the anti-gun left has already been calling for more gun control. Illinois State Attorney Eric Rinehart praised red flag laws and called for a nationwide assault weapons ban, even though Illinois’ red flag laws failed to prevent this shooting. Not to mention that Highland Park already has an “assault weapons” ban, and that obviously failed as well.

Senate Bill 2510 would ban all so-called “assault weapons” in the state of Illinois. It will make it unlawful for any person to knowingly possess these commonly-owned sporting rifles 300 days after the bill passes. This will leave thousands of law-abiding citizens defenseless, and will do nothing to take the guns away from the criminals who obtain them illegally.

Please let your Senators know that passing this bill is an extreme violation of your Constitutionally protected right to bear arms, and urge them to VOTE NO when this comes to vote in the Senate.
