Clinton Has Gun-Makers In Her Cross Hairs
After Lawsuit Dismissed, Clinton Reminds Gun-Makers She Has Them In Her Cross Hairs
Gun maker Remington Arms won the battle, but Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton says that if she is elected, it will lose the war.
On Friday, State Superior Court Judge Barbara Bellis threw out a lawsuit against Remington by the families of several victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Remington has been urging the suit to be dismissed, citing the 2005 federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which protects gun makers from liability when their firearms are used in crimes.
In response to Friday’s ruling, Clinton on Saturday tweeted that she will address the issue, if elected.
“It’s incomprehensible that our laws would protect gun makers over Sandy Hook families. We need to fix this,” she tweeted.
