It takes an Ideologue to Know One

Too many citizens see themselves as “open minded,” as believing “there are two sides to everything, so why get riled up over any one thing?” Others say, “why get up tight? It’s all relative, isn’t it?” Patrick Henry didn’t think so when he said, ‘The eternal difference between right and wrong does not fluctuate, it is immutable.”

Our famous forefather and patriot was right; moral laws never change … right is right, and wrongs are wrong! Murder, lying, stealing, cheating and coveting are wrong behaviors; they can never be considered as right behaviors.

If one’s politically “opened minded,” one can always find grounds for compromise on anything — including “morals.”  But these “open minded” folks who simply think “it’s all relative,” rarely understand or recognize the depth an individual, group, or nation will go to see their beliefs become a reality. To understand and recognize a committed ideologue, it usually takes one to know one. Therefore, to combat an ideologue bent on America’s destruction, it takes an American ideologue who’s willing to comprehend:  what their opposition believes … whose leadership they are following … and how they will subsequently act on their beliefs.

As an example, Muslims who believe in Jihad did the following:  On September 11, 2001, nineteen Muslims set out to crash airplanes into immense buildings, killing themselves while intentionally murdering thousands of us.  They weren’t crazy; the Muslims were rational enough to take months of training on how to fly major jet airliners. As a licensed pilot, I can tell you, this was no easy task.

Then, they captured four jet airliners loaded with passengers, flew hundreds of miles to New York and Washington DC. While willfully shouting “Allahu Akbar,” they dove into three selected targets, murdering thousands of helpless American citizens. If it wasn’t for the bravery of American men, who heroically thwarted the Muslim pilots on one of the captured airliners, the fanatics could have murdered a thousand more.

These Muslim Jihadists weren’t crazy; they knew exactly what they were doing. To millions of their fellow Muslims, they were international heroes who were now happily living in paradise surrounded by beautiful, helpful virgins. They were ideologues, believing fanatically in Jihad and the Prophet Muhammad’s wild imagination of what war and heaven was all about. Even today, Muslim Imams preach world domination in hopes of establishing a Muslim caliphate to run the world. Their prophet, Mohammad, approved of violence, mass murder and trickery as valid tools to accomplish this Muslim goal of world domination. The Muslim faithful, unrepentantly and faithfully, have been at it for 1500 years.

Because they have followed the bad ideas of Muhammad, the mass of Muslims have been living in abject poverty for over the last 15 centuries while killing each other in the process. Bad ideas have bad economic consequences, as well as corrupt moral results. What great wealth they have received within the last century has been due to the discovery of oil. Most of its profit is in the hands of a few Arab oil sheiks, some of whom finance organizations seeking Muslim world conquest. If oil hadn’t been discovered in their vast deserts, and developed by American and European entrepreneurs, Muslims would still be back in the dark ages.

Ideologues run the Muslim world and still believe in living the way they did in the fifth century when they drove the Christians out of northern Africa. Because of the Iranian oil they control, Iranians are now building an atomic bomb in one of the most ideologically driven Muslim countries in the Arab world. Comforting thought, isn’t it?

Bad ideas have brutal consequences, especially when believed and implemented.

America is under assault today by not one but two very bad ideas. The ideologues or followers of Mohammed — as well as, the International Communist party and their hardcore cadre — both hate America. These dedicated atheists, who follow Marxist-Leninist dogma, are deeply committed to world domination. Both of these heathen philosophies work diligently, and often together, for the destruction of America.

Bad ideas must be combated by good ideas — by thoughts that work. Good ideas have good consequences. Our ideas of freedom and the United States Constitution are the direct result of the powerful ideological thoughts of our Christian ancestors, our forefathers who settled this land, and those who wrote our Constitution.  Our Founding Fathers were deeply committed to their Christian beliefs — ideas of personal freedom and a representative government of laws, not men.  What thoughts of freedom our forefathers followed is best demonstrated in Patrick Henry’s historic speech in St. John’s Church in Richmond, Virginia.

Henry wasn’t just emoting when he proclaimed, “Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.” He was right! That was exactly what happened! Our forefathers believed the Providential Hand of God would be there to help them. Patrick Henry was an ideologue, and he wasn’t kidding when he said “Give me liberty or give me death.” He meant it! He knew perfectly well that if King George III of England was victorious, he (Patrick Henry) would be publicly hung!

Alexander Hamilton was also a believer. He told the men who had just signed the Declaration of Independence, “We must be unanimous; there can be no pulling in different ways; we must all hang together.” Benjamin Franklin then added, “Yes we must indeed all hang together, or most assuredly, we will all hang separately!”

The Hamiltons,  the Jeffersons, the Madisons, the Henrys, and the Sam Adams of 1776 were ideologues. They believed in human dignity — that each man was sovereign in his personal rights and that each person was just as important as any man alive, including kings. In the rest of the “civilized” world, though, such thinking was extremely controversial. The world citizenry was accustomed to kings, emperors, tyrants, dictators and governments, controlled by one man rule, and the masses were nothing more than subservient vassals. Where did these Americans get these wild ideas that each individual was as sovereign as any king?

The answer came from one book, from the first printed copy that had only been in existence since August 4, 1455. The Gutenberg Bible was first published by a German printer named Johannes Gutenberg who had just invented the first moveable printing press. Gutenberg wrote, “Let us break the seal which seals up holy things and gives wings to Truth in order that she may win every soul that comes into the world.

Victor Hugo, the famous author wrote, “In the 15th century everything changes. Human thought discovers a mode of perpetuating itself…. the invention of printing is the greatest event in history.”

Victor Hugo was right! Up until the invention of the printing press, God’s story was only on scrolls and parchment paper, only seen by monks, church leaders and learned ministers. The hand-written scrolls, if any were available, were chained to the church pulpit, read by the minister to the congregation on Sundays. Up to the 1500’s, only a small number of people could read. What they knew biblically was what they were told by their ministers about the words and moral thoughts of a young 30-year-old carpenter from Nazareth named Jesus — a controversial young preacher, who cured the sick, raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, cured lepers, walked on water and, furthermore, claimed he was the Son of God. He lived only three more years before he was whipped, spat upon, murdered, hung on a cross between two thieves and abandoned by his followers. In advance, He had told His disciples what would happen and three days later, it happened! He
rose from the dead to be seen by hundreds of others for forty days.

It would be more than 1400 years later before Jesus words would be seen, printed, and placed in the hands of the common man. What an explosion of new thinking then occurred. Literacy became very important to the common man, who wanted his children to now know what he knew about Jesus, the living Son of God. By the end of the 1500’s over 100,000 copies of the Bible were available and in the hands of the average German family. It took 100 more years of massive public reading in the 1600’s before His wisdom saturated Europe, especially the English speaking people, who in later years, massively migrated to America for religious freedom.

In the American colonies, over the following hundred years, the Bible’s words of wisdom was translated into Constitutional law and to the world’s surprise, they found that the common man, who believed and read the words of the Almighty, were truly capable of being their own masters and sovereign citizens, and, that they were in no need of a king.

Jefferson said it colorfully and graphically: “The mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few, booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately.”

When signing the Declaration of Independence, Sam Adams declared, “We have this day restored the Sovereign to whom men alone ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven… from the rising to the setting sun, His kingdom come.”

As our first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said, “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest, of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.” No wonder that after examining a mountain of proof from our early history, the U.S. Supreme Court stated in 1892 “that this is a Christian nation.” Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States, 143 U.S. 457 (1892).

President Thomas Jefferson wrote,” If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” As President, Jefferson commissioned a study to ascertain the literacy of the American people. The results showed literacy exceeded 98%. The reasons given were that everyone not only read the Bible but were educated and schooled by it. Scripture was a staple in practically every home. Christian morals were taught at home and in school. We were a God-fearing moral people.   Secular educators of today point to Jefferson as one of their “libertine” forefathers. If so, then why would he say the following? “Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of people that their liberties are the gift of God?”

Our forefathers, practically to a man, were Ideologues. THANK GOD! In this instance, their ideas had tremendous consequences, leading individual Americans to be the masters of the greatest nation to ever exist on earth, and, the greatest hope for all the rest of mankind!

In Europe, in 1776, a practical man would say, “What! Take on King George III of England? Rebel against the strongest army and the mightiest navy in the world?  You Americans don’t even have a navy nor do you have a trained army! You must be mad! “

Patrick Henry responded:  “The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat, but submission and slavery! Our chains are forged; their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable — and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come!!!

Your GOA Founder still chokes up over Patrick Henry’s words! And, I’m not one bit ashamed of it! Great men founded America, and it will take great people who follow the same ideals to maintain it and pass it on to the rest of the world. It’s our destiny to do so!

These powerful thoughts didn’t die out. Over a hundred years later, Theodore Roosevelt said, “Unless men are willing to fight and die for great ideals, including love of country, ideals will vanish, and the world will become one huge ugly sty of materialism. And, unless the women of ideals bring forth the men who are ready thus to live and die, the world of the future will be filled with the spawn of the unfit.”

At the turn of the 20th century, America’s success had revolutionized the thinking of the world on freedom and the rights of the individual. The world saw the unheard of results of freedom and personal wealth forthcoming and asked “how did they do it?” Unfortunately, they didn’t figure it out. God’s word wasn’t the central theme in their lives, as it was in America.

Now… a hard question. Isn’t it true that towards the end of the Twentieth Century, Americans began to drift away from The Almighty who blessed this land? Can we dare to think we can continue to survive without His help?  Your GOA Founder regretfully doubts it. Can it be changed? Yes, if we, as a Godly people, open our Bibles again, believe in Christ and repent.

Remember, it doesn’t take a majority; God needed only a handful to save Sodom. All past great civilizations lasted close to a thousand years, and we are the greatest of them all! We are the progeny of a great, wise and religious people. We, as a great nation, are still in our infancy, if we count back to our beginning when the first few freedom loving Pilgrims landed on our northern shores in the early 1600’s. Time wise, that’s barely 400 years ago; we have yet to reach middle age! If we count back to June of 1788 — when the Constitution was ratified — as the birthday of the United States, we’re barely over 225 years of age! We have yet to achieve our destiny of bringing freedom to the world, to loosen the bonds of slavery that comes from the knowledge and leadership of Jesus.

There are two facts in our favor. We are the progeny, the whelps of optimists who braved the unknown to come to America — from all over the world they came, the pessimists stayed home. Freedom is in our blood; it’s in our genetic makeup. The second reason is God and His Son, Jesus, doesn’t need a majority to save our country.  All Jesus needs are enough Americans to believe and follow His words of wisdom that are found in the Ten Commandments, especially the tenth: “Thou shalt not covet.”  This commandment states that no one has a right to covet the property of another.  And, by the way, isn’t this why the Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment — to keep tyrants from coveting/taking our guns?
