Gun Control “Framework” Infringes on the Second Amendment
You fly home for Christmas and borrow your cousin’s gun to go deer hunting. On the way back to your grandmother’s house you get pulled over for speeding. Now you and your cousin could be charged with a felony. Sound crazy? That’s exactly what could happen if the radical left‘s new gun legislation passes. According to Section 3 of H.R. 8 the Bipartisan Background Checks Act:
- If you loan a veteran a gun for target practice but unbeknownst to you he has been disarmed by a bureaucrat at the VA without due process because of PTSD, then you go straight to jail.
- If your cousin borrows your gun to hunt on public land, then you go straight to jail.
- If you clean your gun with your buddy but step out of the room for even a second, then you can go straight to jail.
Anti-gunners are pushing to criminalize everyday activity under the guise of expanding background checks.
We all want school safety, but gun control being considered in Congress ignores the ongoing mental health crisis in this country: blaming the gun instead of the individual. This legislation simply infringes on the rights of law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to actually improve security at schools.
Universal Background Checks will do nothing to protect our children, instead they seek to infringe on the rights of the lawful. This gun control specifically attacks the rights of hunters, hunting families, and all law abiding gun owners.
We urgently need everyone to contact their senators and oppose this legislation. We also need to contact senators caving to the emotional outcry from the left. Unfortunately some senators care more about poll numbers then their oath to defend the Constitution of the United States.
