Biden Administration Pistol Point Calculator
Congratulations! Your Pistol is now an SBR under the ATF's new Proposed Rule!
You have the following options to comply with said rule:
- Register your gun as a Short-Barreled Rifle (SBR), pay a $200 tax stamp, and the additional fees for engraving.*
- Rebuild your pistol (potentially soon-to-be illegal SBR) into a rifle at your own cost, which costs about $400 on average.
- Destroy your gun following the ATF's guidelines.
* Option 1 is not available if you live in the following states, so you may ONLY choose options 2 or 3:
- CA, DC, HI, NJ, NY, RI
- ME: must be 29 inches or longer
- MD: must be a rimfire rifle only
- CT: As long as it passes Assault Weapon Ban

Even though you passed, the ATF may still decide your pistol is an SBR:
"Even if a weapon accrues less than 4 points in each section, attempts by a manufacturer or maker to circumvent Federal law by attaching purported “stabilizing braces” in lieu of shoulder stocks may result in classification of those weapons as “rifles” and “short-barreled rifles.” (Pg 29 ATF 2021R-08)"

How Our Pistol Point Calculator Works
The ATF's proposed Worksheet 4999 is outdated! This page is temporarily being kept up for those who still wish to refer to it. The information contained in this tool is not up to date and may contain inaccuracies.
This tool uses the criteria found in the ATF’s proposed Worksheet 4999 to make the ATF’s Proposed Factoring Criteria for Firearms with Attached "Stabilizing Braces" understandable and accessible to the average gun owner.
Armed with the knowledge from this tool, it will become apparent that the Proposed Rule ATF 2021R-08 is designed and intended to ban as many pistols as possible and is not a good-faith clarification of agency guidance.
As proposed, President Biden’s new rule would force law-abiding gun owners to submit their estimated 40,000,000 legally acquired firearms and firearm accessories to registration and taxation or to confiscation and destruction.
Once you have finished calculating whether the ATF wants to regulate your pistol as an illegal short-barreled rifle (they do), we urge you to contact your representatives in support of the SHORT act!
Together, let’s fight back against unconstitutional gun laws and gross agency overreach!
