Petition to U.S. Sentate

The United Nations War on Your Gun Rights Continues

The United Nations Arms Trade Treaty is in its final days of negotiations. This treaty will affect every single gun owner in the country and will almost certainly include:

* A ban on certain semi-automatic firearms (e.g., the Clinton gun ban);

* Registration of gun owners (and, thanks to the unconstitutional instant check, the framework for such registration actually exists in the United States, unlike many of the countries that are negotiating the treaty);

* The mandatory destruction of surplus or confiscated firearms, and;

* Mandatory micro-stamping of ammunition, and much more.

Please sign the petition below to the U.S. Senate. GOA will present your petition directly to your two U.S. Senators.

Petition to United States Senators

WHEREAS the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the individual right to keep and bear arms;

WHEREAS the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty will establish gun control regulations that are in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Second Amendment;

WHEREAS Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the Obama administration will sign the treaty once finalized by the UN;

WHEREAS the Arms Trade Treaty is being drafted, in part, by representatives of countries which prohibit the private ownership of firearms;

WHEREAS if ratified by the U.S. Senate, according to the Article VI, Clause 2 of the Constitution, a treaty becomes the supreme law of the land and cannot be overturned by a simple majority vote in the Congress;

WHEREAS if ratified, judges in the United States would be bound by its terms;

WHEREAS the Arms Trade Treaty will impact the Second Amendment rights of all Americans;

THEREFORE I urge you to advise President Obama not to transmit the UN Arms Trade Treaty to the U.S. Senate, and to vote against ratification of the treaty if it comes to a vote.
