Washington Post's Obama Fast and Furious rating earns own ‘Pinocchios’
“Fact or Fiction?” a sidebar widget appearing yesterday in a Washington Post article about U.S. frustration with Russia granting Edward Snowden asylum asked.
The graphic, which no longer shows on the page (and may be cookie-based, and thus tailored to specific visitor profiles, and/or may disappear once it is clicked through) presented a quote from Barack Obama where he claimed “The Fast and Furious program was a field-initiated program begun under the previous administration.”
“How accurate is this statement?” WaPo asked its readers, presenting four cartoon Pinocchio heads which readers could select to “Choose a Pinocchio rating to find out how the Fact Checker graded this statement.”
