Whence a Mexican drug lord’s guns came doesn’t surprise GOA

Mike Hammond, legislative council to Gun Owners of America (GOA), says this news comes as the ATF is pushing Congress for more money.

“They’re demanding massively more money for the instant check system, massively more money for 200 additional ATF agents, and $500 million — chump change by Washington standards — so that they can take people who have problems and want to consult a professional and take away their guns from them,” Hammond explains.

Whence a Mexican drug lord’s guns came doesn’t surprise GOA

A pro-Second Amendment advocate doesn’t think anyone should be surprised by a new revelation that one of the guns found in the hideout of a notorious Mexican drug lord was funneled through the Obama administration’s Fast and Furious operation.

Sources recently confirmed to Fox News that a 50-caliber rifle found at Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s hideout in Mexico was indeed funneled through the gun-smuggling operation known as Fast and Furious. Federal officials also admitted they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman’s house actually originated in the U.S. or from where they were purchased.

Through operation Fast and Furious, federal agents allowing criminals to buy guns with the intention of tracking them. Instead, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) lost track of 1,400 of the 2,000 guns involved in the sting operation.

And he is not confident that El Chapo will ever be turned over to U.S. authorities.

“He’s in the same prison he escaped from. He’s in the hands of a law enforcement establishment in Mexico that’s both corrupt and incompetent, so I’ll believe it when I see it,” Hammond tells OneNewsNow.

And even if El Chapo is brought to the U.S., the GOA attorney points out that the Obama administration has been going out of its way to release violent drug offenders to the streets.
