GOA has been running ads to pressure swing-state Senators like Joe Manchin to vote against David Chipman — a registered anti-gun lobbyist — as ATF Director.
Our campaign is working… Fox News is now reporting that Schumer does *NOT* yet have the votes to confirm Chipman.
But you can be certain that anti-gunners have seen that same headline and will now breathe down the necks of every swing Senator from now until the moment votes are cast.
That’s why I’ve decided to DOUBLE our ad budget at this do-or-die moment to combat the imminent lobbying efforts from anti-gunners.
David Chipman has stated that U.S. citizens who fail background checks to purchase guns would establish the “perfect opportunity to arrest people BEFORE committing crimes.”
But as you know, 95% of initial denials under the NICS check are false positives — which means they are people who should NOT be denied! Does he seriously want to arrest these law-abiding Americans?
That’s why I want to be sure that Gun Owners of America did everything we possibly could to ensure Chipman NEVER becomes director of the ATF.
At a time when the ATF is already tyrannically bypassing Congress, a rabid anti-gunner like David Chipman at the helm would spell DOOM for the Second Amendment.
Now, the fate of our God-given rights rests in the hands of a few swing-state Democrats like Joe Manchin and Jon Tester, who have stated they are still UNDECIDED about Chipman.
