A Message to the Gun Owners in America
This election didn’t go the way we expected, but we’re still here…
We all saw what happened yesterday. It was a horrible political bloodbath.
But while we may have lost a lot of battles, we have not lost the war.
We’re going to have a lot more to say about this in the coming days and weeks, but for now I want to give you a quick take.
The bad news…
With Hakeem Jeffries likely the new Speaker of the House, anti-gun politicians can pass pretty much anything they want, including a so-called assault weapons ban, gun registration, and much more.
But passing something in the House doesn’t make it law.
Worse news…
In the Senate, Democrats now hold a strong majority. Under Chuck Schumer’s control, they can rubber-stamp anything coming from the House, which is already dangerous.
But even more important, they can block what has been one of Trump’s brightest spots: judicial appointments.

SO, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
Trump is the backstop against legislation for the next two years.
We have to encourage him to stay firm and make the right choice when it counts. He’s been a strong ally overall. He can, should, and must veto anything that would infringe on our Second Amendment rights.
He has to hold the line.
We have a string of wins in the courts, and that matters. We’ve won important nationwide injunctions. For instance, the injunction that GOA members enjoy against the NFA still stands.
The Supreme Court in its upcoming term is likely to rule bans on AR-15s are unconstitutional.
Those decisions are not easily undone. They help to hem in legislatures, shape what’s possible, and give us leverage when other paths are blocked. We’ll keep defending those wins and building on them everywhere we can.
We have strong allies across the industry—manufacturers, distributors, and dealers who stand shoulder to shoulder with us. They amplify our voice, sustain the fight, and keep their own communities engaged.
They’re a crucial part of the coalition that supports every part of our mission.
Most importantly, we have you.
Our members are the backbone of this organization. Our voice in Washington and across the country is your voice.
The Left may have a few billionaires, like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros, who can fund their battles, but we have you…engaged, principled, and willing to stand up.
And that’s what powers this fight.
We’re in this for the long term. We’re not going anywhere, and we’re not giving up.
There will be another election in two short years. We, and that includes all of us, must be ready, prepared to do the work to oust the enemies of the Constitution, the Second Amendment, and really, our way of life.
And remember, we’re fighting not only for ourselves, but for our children, our grandchildren, and future generations as well. Because that’s what the Founding Fathers did. They sacrificed not only for themselves, but for posterity.
We’ll push back everywhere, in every arena, with every lawful tool we have, and move forward together.
Thank you for standing with us.
The next few years are going to be full of fights.
Now is the time to join GOA if you’re not a member.
If you’re already a member, now is the time to ensure your membership renews, or to pledge your support.
We can’t do this alone, and we rely on the support of our membership to take the fight to this next Congress.
