OH: Information on Dangerous Ordnance Licenses
Ohio Law May Provide Another Exemption to NFA Registration |
|
Under ORC § 2923.18, Ohioans can apply for a $50 Dangerous Ordnance License, providing a separate exemption that does not expressly require federal NFA registration. A GOA employee recently received an approved license from the Jackson County Sheriff. However, whether this exception permits possession of unregistered suppressors remains legally untested, and its application to SBRs, SBSs, and privately manufactured items is even less certain. GOA has been working diligently to prepare comprehensive information about the licensing process, possible legal limitations, and examples of the approved applications that you can view by clicking the buttons below.
