1.4 BILLION RECORDS

ATF’s illegal registry of guns and gun owners is growing…

Breaking news, ATF just reported to Congress that their digital, searchable registry of guns and gun owners now contains over 1.4 billion records.

In a response to Congressman Michael Cloud, the ATF reported that they currently have 1,414,088,513 records in their illegal registry.

This is unacceptable.

Not only does this registry violate federal law & the Second Amendment, it’s also a massive national security risk.

Every American who has conducted a commercial transaction, where the FFL has turned over records upon close of business, has their personal information in ATF’s illegal registry.

We at Gun Owners of America have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years.

That’s why we’re asking all GOA members to contact their elected representatives and urge them to pass the No REGISTRY Rights Act.

CONGRESS URGES TRUMP TO DELETE THE REGISTRY

Because of the alarming growth of ATF’s registry, 24 members of Congress have sent a letter to President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, urging them to end the registry once and for all.

Here’s what the Congressmen wrote:

“We write to alert you to an illegal national gun registry now containing 1,414,088,513 records of guns and gun owners… We ask for your decisive leadership to end this registry.”

A gun registry is illegal under federal law, thanks to the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act.

ATF claims that what they have is not a registry.

Don’t believe your lying eyes, says ATF.

Gun owners know better.

A digital, searchable database of guns and gun owners is a registry, no matter what ATF claims.

We’re urging Congress and President Trump to take swift action to dismantle this illegal registry and protect the Second Amendment.

A GUN REGISTRY IS A NATIONAL SECURITY RISK

Recently, an ATF database was hacked by the ransomware group Qilin.

While ATF reports that the system itself was a legacy system, rather than the main ATF enterprise network, the breach is certainly concerning.

The FBI also suffered a major data breach recently as well, and no digital system is truly 100% secure.

Considering the massive amount of personal information contained in the ATF’s illegal registry, Congress and the President could dismantle it in the interest of National Security.

Gun owners data is at risk being in this registry. Not to mention, the registry itself already violates federal law.

GOA will continue lobbying and fighting to ensure that ATF’s illegal registry is dismantled permanently, and we won’t stop until we accomplish that goal.

But we can’t do it alone.

That’s why we’re asking GOA members to click the link below and tell their elected officials to pass the No REGISTRY Rights Act!
