(Washington, D.C.) -- Gun Owners of America-Political Victory Fund today congratulates Texas Republican Tom DeLay for his impressive win in Tuesday's primary election.

Rep. Tom DeLay defeated challengers Tom Campbell, Pat Baig, and Mike Fjetland in yesterday's primary with 62% of the vote.

"Tom DeLay is one of the staunchest defenders of the Second Amendment ever to serve in the United States Congress," said Tim Macy, GOA's Vice-Chairman.

"Even with the national and local liberal press and anti-gun groups constantly attacking DeLay, he came out the big winner in the Primary and we will do everything we can to make sure he is victorious in the General.

"Unlike many politicians, Tom DeLay does not abandon or weaken his conservative, pro-gun principles in the face of political opposition. He has consistently demonstrated his personal commitment to protecting the Second Amendment.

"GOA applauds Rep. DeLay's long-time leadership in defending the Second Amendment in the United States Congress and looks forward to working with the Congressman for years to come," Mr. Macy said.
