Gun Owners: Get Out and Vote!

With the presidential election receiving the most media coverage both nationally and locally, the importance of congressional elections are often underestimated or just simply ignored.

Gun Owners of America (GOA) has released an online voter guide detailing the ratings of each congressional candidate up for election this November based on how they defend our Second Amendment rights.

Simply click on the state you are registered to vote in, and a new tab or window will open containing a list of ratings for all of the candidates running for a congressional seat in your state.

For example, the Virginia voter guide rates the candidates up for election in all eleven congressional districts.

In U.S. House District 5, state senator Tom Garrett (R-VA) has an “A” rating of defending our Second Amendment rights, while opponent Jane Dittmar (D-VA) has a “D” rating.

In U.S. House District 6, Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) currently holds a “B” rating with GOA, while opponent Kai Degner (D-VA) currently has an “F” rating.

The ratings are explained by the following:

A+ Pro-Gun Leader: introduces pro-gun legislation.

A Pro-Gun Voter: philosophically sound.

A- to B- Pro-Gun Compromiser: generally leans our way.

C & C- Leans Our Way: occasionally.

D & D- Leans Anti-Gun: usually against us.

F Anti-Gun Voter: a philosophically committed anti-gunner.

F- Anti-Gun Leader: outspoken anti-gun advocate who carries anti-gun legislation.

? Not rated: Refused to answer his or her questionnaire; no track record.

No matter where you stand currently on the presidential election, it is imperative that you vote for pro-Second Amendment candidates in your local and state races. Don’t stay home, get out and vote!
