Oregon’s Gun Confiscation Law a Horrid Infringement

As Gun Owners of America and our friends at Oregon Firearm Federation (OFF) have previously warned, reckless anti-gunner Kate Brown has signed a gun confiscation bill into law.

This law (bill number SB 719) authorizes a system where a disgruntled family member could petition a court to get a gun owner’s firearms seized — without a jury trial or without the gun owner present before the court.

Not only that, says Kevin Starrett of OFF, “the law actually allows a judge to order a confiscation of firearms based on nothing more than the fact that the person lawfully purchased a firearm in the last 6 months.”

In other words, this bill allows for gun confiscation while throwing due process and gun rights out the window.

But Oregon gun owners are rallying to have this draconian law repealed, and your action is needed as well.

You can help repeal SB 719 by signing the petition to let your voice be heard, and volunteering to put much needed boots-on-the-ground. (Link no longer active)

The deadline is October 5th, so please act immediately.
