Urge Legislators to Support Castle Doctrine Bill

Dear Idaho Gun Owner:

Someone in a black mask kicks in your door at 3:00 a.m.

Should you be required to run away? In your own home?

If you think you have the right to defend yourself, go here right now to urge your state legislator to co-sponsor the Castle Doctrine bill, RS-25277.

There is no excuse for Idaho not to allow you to protect your life, your family and your property in your own home.

Under current Idaho law, you could go to prison for shooting a home invader without first “having endeavored to decline any further struggle” or without having proven he “manifestly endeavors” to kill or rape your family.

That’s legalese for some prosecutors to argue “you have to run away” and “you can’t shoot without first proving he intends to kill you.”

California, of all places, has better laws than this. California!

Rep. Christy Zito is working to fix it. She introduced the Castle Doctrine bill to FULLY protect your life from criminals, and your rights from anti-gun prosecutors.

But the House leadership has long worked to thwart the will of the people on gun rights issues.  And this especially includes House State Affairs Committee Chairman, Rep. Tom Loertscher, who is blocking a vote on the bill.

This is the very same chairman who blocked a vote on Constitutional Carry for several years.

And it’s for this reason, I need you to do two things:

1) Go here right now to tell your state legislator to IMMEDIATELY co-sponsor Zito’s Castle Doctrine bill; and

2) Please email Rep. Tom Loertscher or call him at 208-332-1183. Urge him to stop his anti-gun blockade and to schedule an IMMEDIATE roll call vote on the Zito’s Castle Doctrine bill.

Idaho shouldn’t be a “safe space” for home invaders. And it certainly shouldn’t have worse gun laws than California’s.

Please go here right now to contact your representative
