CCW IN ACTION: Robbery Suspect Shot After Picking An Armed Target

BATON ROUGE, LA — In one of the least safe cities in the United States, one concealed carrier put a robbery suspect soundly in his place by taking the right actions when he was forced to.

According to The Associated PressThe Associated Press:

A suspect was arrested Saturday. The alleged robbery attempt was last Thursday afternoon in Baton Rouge. The Advocate reports that police say the suspect approached two people in a parking lot and threatened them with a gun. They handed him their cell phones. But, according to the police report, one of the victims pulled out his own gun and fired.

Police said the suspect ran away. Police later found a long trail of blood and a cell phone of one of the victims. The suspect was arrested after he went to a hospital.

Twenty-nine-year-old Malcolm Williams of Baton Rouge was being held Sunday on a charge of armed robbery.

There’s no way to know when and if you’ll be faced with a situation in which you’ll be forced to defend your life, but it could be literally this simple — bad guy walks up, presents gun, demands valuables.

Officers arrived at the home to find the body of the suspect lying in the kitchen. He had been shot in “his upper torso.” WBOC TV identified the deceased suspect as 20-year-old Larry T. Hobbs.
