Who says it never happens? Concealed carrier stops Craigslist robbery at Stroud Mall (Pennsylvania)

It started with a Craigslist listing. It ended with a concealed carrier stopping a stun gun wielding robber.

A Pennsylvania man agreed to sell his cell phone to someone through Craigslist on Tuesday (June 10th). He followed the usual safety rules by meeting at a heavily trafficked, public facility in the middle of the day. That wasn’t enough.

The location the “buyer” suggested was Stroud mall. Stroud Mall’s code of conduct says:

20. Carrying or displaying weapons of any kind except those carried by certified law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties. (is prohibited)

Anyone want to guess why the robber wanted to go to a gun free zone?

While pretending to look at the phone the buyer / robber turned violent and began using a stun gun on the phone’s owner. Stroud Area Regional Police Captain Brian Kimmins explained, “It’s like a Taser. It’s a nine volt battery operated stun gun and started applying it to the victim, took the phone and ran.”
