…If Joe Biden has an office in the West Wing, we can expect that he will use that position to launch attacks on the Second Amendment, and to be a cheerleader for the Obama gun control agenda. That much is certain. If Sarah Palin occupies that same office, gun owners may be looking to the tough Alaskan hockey mom to pull John McCain in the other direction.

….Another of Biden’s chief claims to fame, as noted on his own senate website, is authoring the 1994 Crime Bill with its so-called assault weapons ban, a gun prohibition that actually banned over 180 types of common semi-automatic firearms. President Clinton noted in a 1994 speech that without Biden, “there would have been no crime bill this year.”

…In the end, one might conclude that Barr’s voting record on firearms issues is not quite 100 percent in line with the Libertarian Party. That is true. But as noted above, his voting record after his first term in Congress improved tremendously (voting right in 27 out of 31 votes) — a record that is certainly better than 99 percent of most Republicans and Democrats.
